We are proud to finally share the results of SOUL Food, our project which has grown from a simple idea into a tangible path towards inclusion. Through cooking, cultural exchange and digital learning, SOUL Food has supported the development of professional, civic and digital skills amongst migrant women.

The figures clearly illustrate the scale of the work: 302 women took part in the intercultural events and 128 migrant women were directly involved in the activities. Of these, 75 took part in the pilot training programme, a 40-hour guided course delivered across five countries.

This work has yielded three key outcomes:

The first is the analysis on inclusive community development, an in-depth report on practices that use culinary arts and cultural exchange to promote the social inclusion of migrant women. Building on this, we have created a multilingual online archive of good practices, featuring more than ten case studies of successful initiatives, designed to inspire those who work with communities on a daily basis.

The second is the modular training programme, a free and customisable online course combining culinary, digital and citizenship skills. It is delivered via a dedicated multilingual platform, featuring interactive e-learning tools, a self-assessment module and the support of a digital tandem partner who guides each participant throughout the course.

The third component focuses on those who design and deliver the training: a practical guide with a toolkit of digital resources for professionals providing culinary training to migrants and refugees, alongside a trainer’s handbook that strengthens skills in digital and blended teaching. In this way, the SOULFood experience can be replicated and adapted far beyond the countries involved.

Now that the project is drawing to a close, we want to be clear on one point: this is not the end. The platform and all the results will remain available free of charge even after the official closure, so that they can continue to serve the people for whom they are intended. That is why we invite you to explore the full collection of outcomes, to use them and to share them. Recipes are only passed down if someone still cooks them: we are delighted to have laid the ingredients on the table, and now it is up to you to carry on cooking.
